Something old, something new

The whole concept of public area beautification doesn’t exactly sit well with me. We take a naturally beautiful place that becomes popular and then pave and landscape it! Sure it may make access easier and may even preserve parts from traffic, but I don’t often return, preferring to find new, unspoilt areas.
This old jetty at Boreen Point, along with the foreshore has had some upgrades and despite my reluctance submitted to hypocrisy and had to take a photo of the once derelict and partly collapsed jetty now repaired and bright and sparkling in the red sun, my journey out made all the easier by the paved walkway rather than stumbling over the roots and obstacles lurking in the sand!
